Tiny Blooms.

With my two parents being Wildlife Biologists and farmers, I have always had a strong connection with the land. Understanding the natural cycles and rhythms of animals and nature is something that I am constantly aware of and striving to gain a better understanding of. We are guests in this natural world and have a duty to care for and be stewards of the land and creatures around us.

Throughout my education and various jobs/careers, whether it be working in horticulture, at a horse breeding operation, for a farm organisation or teaching in a classroom, I have always had a strong desire to help people, and sharing my knowledge about plants, animals and agriculture has been a recurring theme.

I discovered flower farming as a career, when I was at home with our two young girls. I was so inspired by the joy and beauty that one can share through something as simple and beautiful as flowers. With the incredible support and help from my husband, Scott, and our girls, we continue to grow ‘Tiny Blooms’.

Although this business started as my dream, farming is a family business, and Tiny Blooms is definitely a family affair. Behind this flower farmer stands an incredible support network - from my husband jumping from project to project - to our girls, planting, seeding, digging - my mom and dad, sharing their land, weeding, or out planting hundreds of peonies - my siblings (and siblings-in-law) planting, weeding, sharing/liking posts on social media. Family is pretty great!

Although we sell bouquets of flowers, I hope that you enjoy some snippets of our family life on a flower farm. Thanks for joining us.

Why buy local?

Imported flowers have a much higher carbon footprint than in-season blooms that have been locally grown. Purchasing flowers during the growing season and from a local farmer is something that can lessen the environmental impact and benefit our community.

By buying local, you help create jobs for your friends and neighbours, contribute to improved public infrastructure, and invest in our community both socially and economically.

See what else is happening on the farm!
